We have a fantastic opportunity to join the Forecasting and Replenishment team at Greggs as a Retail Category Forecaster on a 12 month fixed term contract.

About the role

What you’ll do

  • Reviewing historical sales trends to prepare forecast data
  • Develop and improve statistical models and evaluating forecast results to optimise product launch and delists, managing availability and waste for new and discontinued products in your category.
  • Taking full responsibility for creating a shop forecast for individual products within a certain category of products to maximise sales whilst controlling waste and stales
  • Ensuring the retail forecasting and replenishment systems are maintained appropriately to consistently improve forecast accuracy and thus support a robust shop order
  • Support the Demand forecasting team to produce forecasts for supply chain to ensure we can supply shops in full maximising shelf life and availability
  • Communicating effectively with Category, Retail and Supply Chain teams to ensure that forecast processes are adhered to and understood
  • Providing data, analysis and direction on ranging decisions that can be implemented in collaboration with the Category teams
  • Interacting with Category, Marketing, F&R and Finance to understand Category sales forecast drivers.
  • Using and SAP (ECC/S4/F+R/CAR/UDF and RPL) software as the primary forecasting system tool, linking power BI into the process.

About you

You will fit right into this role if you:

  • Highly numerate with an ability to manage and analyse complex data to solve problems, with strong attention to detail.
  • Fully conversant with Excel and Power BI.
  • An ability to diagnose and implement practical process/system improvements, results focused with strong organisational skills.
  • An effective communicator with an ability to work cross-functionally
  • A self-starter with a desire to get things done and to drive continuous improvement
  • An ability to work at pace and manage multiple deadlines within challenging timescales
  • Can demonstrate a proven ability to provide excellence in customer service

Desirable:

  • A good understanding of a commercial business environment, especially sales, marketing, finance, retail and operations
  • Fresh food experience an advantage
  • At least 2 years forecasting experience in FMCG environment
  • Sales forecasting or Demand planning experience
  • Graduate with business or maths related discipline
