Paralegal – New York, 10019, United States of America 

How we LEAD:

Universal Music Group seeks an experienced paralegal for the position of Paralegal in its Business & Legal Affairs department. Reporting to the VP of Business & Legal Affairs in New York, this resource will support three attorneys handling a broad range of technology-related commercial transactions across UMG’s global footprint while working closely with procurement teams and business unit leaders to provide legal support services.
 

How you will CREATE: 
Anticipated Duties:
• Review statements of work, order forms and other related commercial contract documents.
• Manage agreement renewals by tracking expiration dates and notice requirements, liaising with business owners and drafting and sending out renewal notices.
• Maintain library of legal templates.
• Assist in daily administrative tasks such as updating deal charts, scheduling meetings and sending out documents for signature.
• Other tasks as assigned by supervisor(s).
 

Skills/Abilities:
• Ability to work autonomously (self-starter), assess urgency and prioritize tasks accordingly.
• Handle high volume of requests, multi-task and work efficiently with attorneys and alongside procurement/contract management.
• Attention to deal, able to follow numerous deadlines and work under pressure.
• Professional demeanor, ability to interact with individuals at all levels of company.
 

Bring your VIBE:
• Minimum of 4+ years in-house experience at a software/media company, major record label, and/or comparable law firm experience. This is not an entry-level position.
• Strong preference is for paralegal experience handling a high-volume workload with strong, working knowledge of the commercial transactions space.
• Previous experience managing contract templates, clause libraries and organizational software tools is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required (including review/redlining); proficiency in Monday.com, DocuSign and/or other similar organizational and CLM tools is a plus.
• Education: BA/BS from an accredited college or university.
