We’re looking for a strategic and forward-thinking leader to head up our Central Supply Chain Planning and Operational Efficiency teams. This is a high-impact role where you’ll drive performance, efficiency, and alignment across our supply chain operations. You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders, influence decision-making, and lead initiatives that support long-term business success. In return we can offer:

About the role

What you’ll do

  • Lead our Operational Efficiency team across manufacturing, logistics, and transport functions
  • Develop team succession plans and deploy labour utilisation tools across sites
  • Introduce control systems and a Greggs Operating System to improve supply chain performance
  • Lead and coordinate central Supply Planning Team activities aligned with strategic and operational goals
  • Influence senior stakeholders to ensure site teams have the right resources to meet customer demand
  • Ensure Commercial Team is aligned and working towards shared objectives
  • Use data and BI insights to identify site improvements and lead automation studies
  • Promote a culture of customer focus, achievement, and accountability across planning and efficiency teams
  • Oversee resource planning to maximise value and support wider business initiatives
  • Ensure labour deployment meets statutory requirements and reflects best practice
  • Lead budget planning and identify cost-saving opportunities across the supply chain
  • Communicate progress and initiatives clearly across sites and leadership teams
  • Collaborate with systems and communications managers to ensure tools and messages drive engagement and efficiency

About you

We are looking for highly experienced, talented individuals with drive, who can demonstrate:

  • Proven senior management experience in an operational efficiency/workforce planning role.
  • A proven track record of delivering high levels of customer satisfaction within a central supply chain function.
  • Experience of managing and delivering a significant budgetary responsibility
  • The ability to think about the wider picture and make sound decisions.
  • Experience of working with and influencing senior management.
  • Experience of developing innovative solutions and contributing to strategic planning.
  • Extensive vocational experience
  • Strong systems knowledge and capability
