Chef (Fixed-Term Contract – 12 Months)
We’re currently recruiting an ambitious Chef to help us create exceptional food experiences for Defence on a full-time, 12-month fixed-term contract, working 40 hours per week.
As a Chef, you’ll be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality food that truly brightens our clients’ and customers’ days. Joining the UK’s leading food service company, you’ll have the opportunity to develop your skills, work within a supportive team, and make a real impact every day.
Shift Pattern: 5 out of 7 days
What You’ll Be Doing
- Preparing delicious, high-quality food for clients and customers
- Supporting the planning and implementation of menu changes
- Identifying opportunities to improve food quality and service delivery
- Listening and responding to customer feedback to enhance the dining experience
- Assisting with the development of new menus and creative food concepts
- Representing Defence and maintaining a positive brand image
- Monitoring stock levels and assisting with inventory management
- Maintaining high standards of kitchen cleanliness and hygiene
- Ensuring compliance with Food Handling, Food Hygiene, and Health & Safety regulations
What We’re Looking For
- A genuine passion for great food and excellent customer service
- City & Guilds 706/1 & 2, NVQ qualification, or equivalent
- Previous experience in a Chef role
- Experience supervising or supporting a kitchen team
- Food Hygiene Certificate
- A flexible and positive approach to work
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced catering environment
